Outer Banks Neuterthon!

Hey Everyone,
You’ve heard of the marathon down here on the beach, we’d like to introduce you to the Outer Banks NEUTERTHON! The Outer Banks and surrounding areas continue to have a cat overpopulation problem. The Outer Banks Veterinary Hospital plans to help that problem by offering low cost male cat neuters on a weekend that many clients should find convenient. The cost to have your cat ‘fixed’ is nominal, $30. You can’t fill up your gas tank for that amount!
We are doing this at a significant price reduction to help the pet overpopulation. Feel free to show up on May 21st and we will work your kitty into the schedule. You may, however, have a significant wait on that day. To save a significant amount of time, we are encouraging pre-registration. The form to pre-register is below in both MS Word and PDF formats. To guarantee a time slot for the Outer Banks Neuterthon, you will need to completely fill out the registration/surgical release form and bring it to the Outer Banks Veterinary Hospital before May 19th. To reserve a time slot, you MUST PREPAY! The Outer Banks Neuterthon accepts only cash for prepayment. On May 21st, the day of the Neuterthon, we will also accept credit cards. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT ANY TIME FOR THE NEUTERTHON!
Basic Rules and Information
(1) MALE cats with both descended testicles only! The neuterthon is NOT for dogs, female cats, or cryptorchid cats (undescended testicles).
(2) Only cats younger than ten (10) years of age that weigh more than five (5) pounds will be accepted. We recommend that older cats see a veterinarian at normal business hours for a comprehensive examination and medical assessment prior to undergoing surgery.
(3) Sick cats will not be accepted. If your pet appears to be sick on a brief physical examination, it will not be neutered on this date at our hospital. Only a brief physical examination will be performed on all cats to assess their health before sedation and/or anesthesia. This does not guarantee that your cat is disease free or that there will not be complications during or after the procedure is performed. The goal of the Outer Banks Neuterthon is to help with pet overpopulation, not to diagnose your pet’s sickness for a discounted rate. If your pet is sick, he will need to be seen during regular business hours for a further workup and diagnosis.
(4) ALL cats must present to the hospital in a carrier and only one cat per carrier! If you bring multiple cats in a single carrier, they may not be neutered on that day. You will not receive a refund for a prepaid surgery if a separate carrier cannot be provided for each pet. A limited number of cardboard carriers will be available on May 21, 2011 for an additional fee of $15.00.
(5) If you are more than 20 minutes late for your prepaid appointment, you may be required to wait until the next available opening in the schedule. We will do our best to run on time and to minimize any potential waiting time but cannot guarantee that your pet will be admitted at the appointed time. Prepayment assures ONLY that your cat will be seen ahead of others who do not prepay.
(6) If your cat is aggressive and cannot be handled safely, he may not be neutered on the Neuterthon date. In the event that a cat is fractious and the sex cannot be safely determined, we can sedate the cat and will refund 1/2 (50%) of the neuter fee if the pet is found to be female or cryptorchid.
(7) All fees must be paid and release forms signed legibly before your pet will be admitted into the hospital.
(8) If any conflicting agreements or statement are found between this page and the Neuterthon Sterilization Agreement (NSA) , then the NSA will supercede all statements found on this page.
